The town has been fortunate and very busy the past few years upgrading and improving our facility, vehicles and equipment. These upgrades and improvements have all been made possible through grants and the Capital Project Sales Tax program.
The Town of Coward will hold it’s next council meeting on Monday, March 4, 2024 at 6pm
The Agenda is as follows:
1. Approval of minutes from previous meeting
2. Mayor Thomas wrote and delivered a thank you note to the ladies of the Tabernacle Church for the food
3. Discuss property in town that needs to be cleaned up
4. Discuss having the tennis court fence repaired
5. Vote on changing mayor and council to w-2 status
6. Public Comments: Three minutes with no action taken
Good Times in Coward
Coward is home to one of Florence County’s athletic complex with three athletic fields that host baseball, softball, and soccer each year. Close to 175 children sign up each year to participate in these sports. All teams are sponsored through local and surrounding businesses and coached by dedicated volunteers.
THE COWARD HARVEST FESTIVAL . The Town of Coward hosts its annual “Coward Harvest Festival” on the third Saturday each September. The Parade starts at 10:30 a.m. going straight into the festival ending at 5:00 p.m. near the intersection of St. Paul Rd and Gause Canal, next to the Bible Temple Church in Coward. Activities include food vendors, inflatable play areas, arts & crafts, and more.
The 2022 Christmas in the Park will be held on Saturday, December 3rd! Please join us for an evening of Christmas Music, Hot Chocolate, Coffee and Doughnuts. Santa Claus will be there with a special treat for the kids and a photo op for the parents. The event will start at 5:00 pm at the Coward Town Park with Santa arriving around 6pm. We will be collecting can goods for donation. Please show your support by bringing one or more can good.
