“A quiet, peaceful place” truly does describes Coward, South Carolina. Located on US Hwy 52 approximately 12 miles south of Florence, Coward is a small town with a lot to offer. Conveniently located within reasonable driving distance to some of South Carolina’s best vacation spots including Myrtle Beach, Columbia and Charleston. Found within the town limits are reasonably priced local restaurants, local retail businesses and “J.C. Lynch” Elementary School. The area surrounding the town of Coward is rich in history and natural beauty. One of the favorite local attractions just a short drive from the town is Lynches River County Park, which covers approximately 676 acres along the Lynches River. Towering cypress trees and sand hills make this park popular with visitors who come for the great camping, canoeing and walks on the scenic nature trails.

Annual Harvest Festival
The Town of Coward hosts its annual “Coward Harvest Festival” on Saturday September 27th. The Parade starts at 10:30 a.m. going straight into the festival ending at 5:00 p.m. near the intersection of St. Paul Rd and Gause Canal, next to the Bible Temple Church in Coward. Activities include food vendors, inflatable play areas, arts & crafts, and more.

Christmas in the Park
The 2025 Christmas in the Park will be held on Saturday, December 6th! Please join us for an evening of Christmas Music, Hot Chocolate, Coffee and Doughnuts. Santa Claus will be there with a special treat for the kids and a photo op for the parents. The event will start at 5:00 pm at the Coward Town Park with Santa arriving around 6pm. We will be collecting can goods for donation. Please show your support by bringing one or more can good.
